202 views12/06/2013 - 61994 "The Great Marquess" pulls the load on the first of the summer season of "The "Fellsman" from Carnforth to Carlisle via the S & C Railway captured here at Billington footcrossing starting the climb up Whalley Banks having just left the "Arches" just around the bend on the return in drizzly conditions. ( note the headlight reflecting off the wet rails in front)

202 views17/07/2013 - Jubilee 45699 "Galatea" takes a turn on "The Fellsman" seen at Barrow footcrossing heading for Whalley on the return leg.
Its silly season after a dry and sunny fortnight and a Class 47 is attached hoping to help stop embankment fires by helping the Jubilee if needed from working too hard, so not to send hot ashes from the chimney to the embankments to start fires along the route.
